This knife was hand-made by Harry K. McEvoy, founder of the Tru-Balance Knife Company. I bought it from him in the early 1980’s.
I took his standard leather sheath apart and rebuilt it to form-fit the Bowie-Axe. I added custom fringe and a nice basket-weave design.

The Tru-Bal BOWIE-AXE has been sold world-wide since 1959. It has achieved world fame as an all-purpose throwing, game hunting, camping, chopping, combat and survival knife. Handmade after initial shaping of specially tempered spring steel, it will stand up to a lifetime of rugged use. Overall length is 13 1/2″, width 2″, thickness 3/16″, and weight 15 oz. Handle slabs of tough vulcanized fibre secured with extra heavy rivets. Strong handcrafted leather sheath and instruction sheets included.
